Chorten Kora

Chorten Kora is a revered stupa located in Trashiyangtse, eastern Bhutan. Built in 1740 by Lama Ngawang Loday, it was modeled after Nepal's Boudhanath Stupa and is deeply rooted in Bhutanese spiritual traditions. A key legend tells of a Dakini princess from Arunachal Pradesh who sacrificed herself during its consecration to protect the region. The stupa’s design symbolizes Buddhist cosmology, and it serves as a major pilgrimage site, especially during the annual Chorten Kora Festival. This includes Drukpa Kora for Bhutanese and Dakpa Kora for people from Arunachal Pradesh. Today, Chorten Kora continues to attract visitors for its sacred significance, cultural richness, and scenic beauty. It offers a unique blend of spirituality, history, and tradition, making it a must-visit in Bhutan.

Journey To Tiger's Nest

Paro Taktsang, or the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is one of Bhutan’s most iconic sites. Perched dramatically on a cliff above Paro Valley, it offers breathtaking views and deep spiritual significance. Built in the 17th century, it is believed to be where Guru Padmasambhava meditated after flying there on a tigress. The hike to the monastery is steep but rewarding, taking visitors through lush forests to reach its sacred halls. Paro Taktsang remains a powerful symbol of Bhutan’s cultural and religious heritage.
